ALUMNI & FRIENDS TREK 2022
Our Adventure
Join us for a hiking adventure amongst the red rocks of Southern Utah's famous National and State Parks. For 6 days we will explore some of the most beautiful and unique landscapes in the world.
We start in the world-renowned town of Moab which will be our home base for a couple of nights. We will start in Arches National Park and hike to iconic destinations like Delicate Arch, Landscape Arch and the Windows. In the evening visit Dead Horse Point State Park for a spectacular sunset view 2,000 ft above the Colorado River. The next day will begin with a wild off-road guided adventure in utility terrain vehicles (UTV) over slick rock and desert landscapes, before heading on to the quaint town of Torrey at the entrance to Capitol Reef National Park.
Capitol Reef National Park, in the heart of red-rock country, is a desert oasis of red and white sandstone cliffs, lush green riverbanks, and a colorful desert floor. Some of the highlights will be exploring an amazing slot canyon located in the Waterpocket Fold, hiking to Hickman Bridge, a 133-ft beautiful natural sandstone bridge and visiting petroglyphs.
After a day of exploring we will drive to Bryce Canyon National Park where we will spend the night.
The next day will be taking in the magnificent views Bryce Canyon has to offer from various viewpoints and hiking into the canyon amongst the famous hoodoos on the Navajo and Queens Garden Trails. Then on to the town of Springdale at the entrance to Zion National Park.
We will explore several of its many famous hiking trails. In the evening we will head to St. George, Utah where we will spend the night before flying home.
All transportation, including airport pick-up and drop-off (single group transfer) in Moab (or Salt Lake City) and St. George, hotel accommodations, most meals, guided off-road utility terrain vehicle (UTV) ride, National and State Park fees, and TFK guides will be provided. Since we will be day-hiking you will only need to carry a daypack. We will hike an average of 4-6 hours a day. No previous trekking experience needed, but we require that all Trekkers be in good physical condition. It s important that a good physical conditioning program be undertaken at least two months before departure.
