Southern Utah Parks Trek

Our Adventure

Join us for a hiking adventure amongst the red rocks of Southern Utah's famous National and State Parks. For 7 days we will explore some of the most beautiful and unique landscapes in the world.

We start in the world-renowned town of Moab which will be our home base for a couple of nights. We will start in Arches National Park and hike to iconic destinations like Delicate Arch, Landscape Arch and the Windows. In the evening visit Dead Horse Point State Park for a spectacular sunset view 2,000 ft above the Colorado River. The next day will begin with a wild off-road guided adventure in utility terrain vehicles (UTV) over slick rock and desert landscapes, before heading on to Goblin Valley State Park in the San Rafael Swell. We will introduce you to slot canyon hiking in Little Wild Horse Canyon and the hoodoos or little "goblins" of Goblin Valley that make this park so unique. After an afternoon of exploration, we will continue on to the quaint town of Torrey at the entrance to Capitol Reef National Park where we will spend the next two nights.

Capitol Reef National Park, in the heart of red-rock country, is a desert oasis of red and white sandstone cliffs, lush green riverbanks, and a colorful desert floor. Some of the highlights will be exploring an amazing slot canyon located in the Waterpocket Fold, hiking to Hickman Bridge, a 133-ft beautiful natural sandstone bridge and visiting petroglyphs.

The next day we will drive to Grand Staircase National Monument and and spend the day exploring. Depending on the weather condition we will either visit Calf Creek Falls, Coyote Gulch, Peekaboo and Spooky or Zebra before continuing on to Bryce Canyon National Park where we will spend the night.

The next day will be taking in the magnificent views Bryce Canyon has to offer from various viewpoints and hiking into the canyon amongst the famous hoodoos on the Navajo and Queens Garden Trails. Then on to the town of Springdale at the entrance to Zion National Park.

Bryce Canyon

We will explore several of its many famous hiking trails, among them, Angel’s Landing, which will take us 1500 ft above Zion Canyon and the Virgin River, to one of the highest points in the Park, with 360 degree breathtaking views. In the evening we will head to St. George, Utah where we will spend the night before flying home.

All transportation, including airport pick-up and drop-off (single group transfer) in Moab (or Salt Lake City) and St. George, hotel accommodations, most meals, guided off-road utility terrain vehicle (UTV) ride, National and State Park fees, and TFK guides will be provided. Since we will be day-hiking you will only need to carry a daypack. We will hike an average of 4-6 hours a day. No previous trekking experience needed, but we require that all Trekkers be in good physical condition. It’s important that a good physical conditioning program be undertaken at least two months before departure.

Our Work

Participants will be asked to raise $500 in tax-deductible donations to help Trekking for Kids continues its work to help at-risk children around the world.
